Mallacoota, Vic
Located in Victoria's north east coastal wilderness, the design of this home responds to vast coastal and lake views and a cool to teperate climate. Acheiving 8.5 stars for thermal efficiency, it is proposed that this lightweight building uses locally available and recycled materials on an earthy yet sophisticated design palette. Expected completion late 2010.
Seaforth House
The concept for this project revolves around the house responding to the more appealing northern street orientation and locates the recreational areas and pool accordingly. A composition of stacked and floating boxes, this design uses light and shade to create additional interest and a multi-layered approach to wall finishes and screen details.
Queenscliff, NSW
This beachside contemporary home is design for fexible and easy care living and modestly occupies the site with beach and hinterland views. The building responds to a developing modern urban building form and capitalizes on its northerly aspect and views.
Expected completion late 2010.
Glenworth Valley, NSW
This idyllic site lies within a deep valley carved through Hawkesbury sandstone cliffs, and is designed to respond to extremes of heat and cold within this humid valley microclimate. The building responds to natural environment with a palette of recycled timber, glass, sandstone and steel so as to develop a language that is synonymous with the Australian bush. Expected completion late 2010.
Mosman
A challenging site, this project located on Sydney's north side captures views and sun to its north, whilst requiring a sensitive approach to limit its effect on neighbouring views. This project seeks to maximize energy efficient design and contribute positively in terms of additional alternative energy solutions.
Budget $1.5M plus.
Queenscliff
This blank slate project on Sydney's northern beaches is inspired by contemporary modernism and is motivated to provide beach side living at its most efficient.
Budget $1.0M plus
Tumut
This project located in Tumut in south western New South Wales is inspired by Frank Lloyd Wrights "prairie style" buildings, with broad floating roof planes and a firm anchor into the landscape. Subject to extreme hot and cold climate conditions, this reverse brick-veneer, passive solar home will demand some attention in this rural environment.
Budget $500K plus.
Warriewood Beach
An extremely challenging site, this building commands extensive views over Warriewood Beach in Sydney's north and is designed for casual living and to maximize connection with the beach. Budget $1.5M plus
Seaforth Residence
This project compromises of generous first floor additions and remodelling of existing recreational terraces to provide a more functional layout for a growing family. The design is conceived so as to modernize the building and provide a new modern aesthetic whilst increasing daylight access and maximising views over Middle Harbour.
